Bealtaine Festival 2026 at Rialto Social Day Care Centre

The coffee morning for May 2026 was also part of this year’s Bealtaine Festival with artwork on display that were made by service users of the Rialto Social Day Care Centre.

The exhibition of work was spread nicely between the indoor and outdoor spaces, with artwork tucked into corners, hanging on walls, and catching the sun outside. We got very lucky with a scorcher of a day!

There was a great mix of people there too. Familiar faces from around the area alongside plenty of new ones brought in with the festival, all drifting in and out, chatting away over tea and muffins. Some people came for the art, some came for the company, and a few probably came because somebody told them there’d be free treats. All valid reasons.

What made the day work was how easy it felt. No big performance to it, no pressure. Just people taking a look around, having conversations, introducing themselves, catching up, and getting stuck into discussions you’d never expect to be having beside a tray of pastries in the sunshine. This coffee morning happens the last Tuesday of every month here at the centre, but this one had a special twist to it.

The Bealtaine Festival is meant to celebrate creativity and connection, and this event managed that without making a song and dance about it. It just happened naturally. You could see people properly enjoying themselves, whether they were exhibiting work, helping out behind the scenes, or simply turning up for a wander and a cuppa.

All in all, it was a lovely afternoon with lovely work on display, plenty of laughs, good chats, and a real sense of community around the place. Exactly the kind of event that reminds you how important these local gatherings are, especially when the sun decides to cooperate for once.
