Meet Michelle: Morning Receptionist at St. Andrew’s Community Centre

We recently caught up with Michelle, the friendly face welcoming everyone at St. Andrew’s. As the morning receptionist, Michelle plays a vital role in creating a warm and supportive environment for visitors and staff alike. Here’s what she had to share about her role and experiences working at St. Andrew’s:

1. Tell us a bit about yourself – What’s your role at St Andrew’s?

My role as morning receptionist is to give people access to the building and direct them to the relevent parts of the building. I also answer the phone and take messages for various staff members.

2. Can you give us an overview of what your project does within the centre?
Everyday here can be different, with various rooms to rent and a wide range of different groups who come through the centre.

3. What have been some recent highlights or challenges in your role?

There are far more highlights than challenges in this role. With such a wide range of services offered — quite literally from head to toe, thanks to our in-house hairdresser and podiatrist — there’s always something meaningful happening!

4. Lastly, do you have a fun fact, favourite memory, or something that’s inspired you lately that you’d like to share with our readers?

The last Tuesday of every month we have a coffee morning in our day care centre, which is for everyone and always a great place for both the staff and community to mix.
